Congrats to our 1,000th member, Andre aka beghanbeib. You guys rock, hope to see the site continue to grow.

On a completely unrelated note...

I've created an RSS feed from the blog. There's a new link on the left at the bottom, or you can find it directly at the following link:

As you may know....

I am an opinionated bastard. I believe it is the bi-product of being so passionate about most everything I do. I do a boatload of different things, as you may well know- I'm a decorated mixed martial arts veteran, writer, and radio personality. I'm also the Bully Beatdown guy. Since you are reading this on my website and will most likely make a comment at the end of this blog, which I welcome and hope to hear opinions that differ from my own.

I've realized that I've put off really creating a real "mayhemmiller.com" because I never wanted to really put the effort in to commit to writing a blog constantly, because the last time I would blog consistently, was Myspace, and let's face it, myspace is a dying pig-dog-bird, that has genetically mutated out of anything that resembles a creature worthy of living on earth. At one time, maybe a pigdogbird might have been adapted for survival, possibly living in packs when the earth was a giant mudball, rooting around for food and then flying off when things got too intense from the Velociraptors.

I remember a time that Myspace was this excellent social networking tool, and was "the place to be" on the internet. It was like this giant electronic club, with all the techno kids sitting outside in the parking lot, bumping their club music from their Toyota Scions, pre-partying as the sun went down, exchanging bracelets in the parking lot and working on their dance moves before heading into the massive auditorium that was the website- listening to awesome new music while connecting with complete strangers and forming brand new, albeit strange friendships with interesting people. Hell, I met my hetero lifemate, Ryan Loco (www.ryanloco.com) at Club Myspace, and that's a great friendship, despite all the infections he's given me.

As the "night" went on, people started getting sick of the same repetitive beat all night, and started taking their personalized cars to club Facebook, where it's more exclusive to get in and to get to know someone you have to know one of their friends- no walking up with "That dress looks great on you- it would look better on my bedroom floor" lines. Now it seems like all that is left of myspace is a few cracked out club kids and thousands upon thousands grubby looking guys handing out flyers for next weekends event, strip clubs, or begging that you come to his band's performance at Cafe' Enrique' next Wednesday as the sun comes up and the stragglers rush to their cars and their sunglasses.

Now that the party is over, a new day is here. I've committed to you guys, to make MayhemSpace, here on my website. Now I wish I could tell you honestly that this was all for you, but it's not. Sure I want to sell stuff. Sure I want you to buy my stuff. But what I get out of this website is far far more important to me than money.

My last blog garnered many many comments, and what I realized was happening was I was getting not just a quantity of comments, but some QUALITY comments. Comments that made me rethink some of my positions and excite my brain to a point of invigoration to write more. I thought that it would work like it always had on Myspace- I tell a funny story, or give my open and honest opinion, and everyone would give back a one line "way to go Mayhem" or a "LOL" which I appreciate, but without adding anything really quality to the conversation, and never challenging my beliefs or anyone else's- thereby becoming a boring bastion of monotony.

Maybe no one understood when I called you "Mayhem Monkeys." Then awesome thing about monkeys is that they are really individual animals. Sure they live in a group, and one of the monkeys is the "leader" but he's still a monkey. As said by the great philosopher Sir Joseph of Rogan, "We're all talking monkeys, spinning around on a rock, in space."(www.joerogan.net) This website has taken on the form of what the internet really is, an awesome electronic village where we all can share ideas improve on knowledge and points of view that we already have. I've been on the internet since 93' when it was BWEEEE-crrrsssshhhhh-NEEEEEE click click "You've got Mail" and seen the change firsthand. I can't imagine where we will be in 16 more years. Progress is only made by updating old beliefs- if that weren't true, we'd still be worried about falling off the edge of the earth.

At the fear of rambling I'm going to cut this short, because if I could I would write all of you Mayhem Monkeys individual love letters, telling you how much I appreciate you, no matter if you've been a fan since the days of my platinum teeth, or just Bully Beatdown noobs. Basically, I'm thanking you for participating in the discussion here, and encouraging you to do so more. Just because I'm the lead monkey here, I want your thoughts too, to prevent us all from going the way of the pigdogbird.
